Film capacitors are also called plastic film capacitors.
It uses a plastic film as the dielectric.
Some of the main characteristics of film capacitors in applications:
non-polarity, high insulation resistance, excellent frequency characteristics (broad frequency response), dielectric loss correction Based on the above advantages, film capacitors are widely used in analog circuits. Especially in the part where the signal is cross-connected, a capacitor with good frequency characteristics and extremely low dielectric loss must be used to ensure that the signal will not be too distorted during transmission. Among all plastic film capacitors, polypropylene (PP) capacitors and polystyrene (PS) capacitors are the most prominent.
1 Basic structure:
The internal structure of the film capacitor is mainly: metal foil (or foil obtained by metallization on plastic) as the electrode plate, and plastic as the dielectric. Obtained by winding or lamination process. The different arrangements of foils and films give rise to a variety of constructions.
